The Netflix animated series Captain Laserhawk is getting its own shooter game based on blockchain technology. For this, Ubisoft is collaborating with Arbitrum.
Game developer Ubisoft and the Arbitrum Foundation have announced a Web3 game called Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. This is according to a press release. The multiplayer shooter will be released on Dec. 18 and is based on the Netflix series of the same name. The Niji Warrior NFT collection on the NFT marketplace Magic Eden is part of the application and also provides access to the game.

A top-down shooter blending retro vibes with fast-paced action.
Best part? It’s a free mint.
And not just any free mint—this one is packed with utilities:
1️⃣ Governance: You control the meta and future updates.
2️⃣ Epic Rewards: Unlock… pic.twitter.com/EviPCAJcUu
"The dynamic NFTs offer exclusive gaming benefits and allow players to influence game development," the statement said.
Ethereum domains have also been integrated into the game.
Arbitrum is pseudo-hyperliquid representation rn. Biggest inflow in the past week of all major L1s. Look at Eth, miserable pic.twitter.com/JXwVmRgF6a

The hype surrounding the game has already paid off for Arbitrum. On a monthly basis, ARB is up by almost 50% and at the time of writing is listed at almost 0.90 euros. The hype surrounding Ubisoft and blockchain gaming is a lot less popular. Ubisoft has failed to publish a successful game in recent years. Whether Captain Laserhawk is going to change that is doubtful.
Ethereum Layer-2 network activity is also evident: Arbitrum still leads the list in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL), ahead of Coinbase Base and Optimism. That's according to data from l2beat.
