News - Berlin start-up group launches VC fund for Web3 applications
A Berlin-based start-up group announces the launch of a new Venture Capital fund (venture investment fund) focused on Web3 applications. With this, the Kreuzberg-based group aims to develop Web3-applications accelerate.
The Kreuzberg-based "w3.fund" has successfully completed its first closing and is already supporting 15 companies. The "pot" for the first investment round is already well filled and will amount to a maximum of 25 million euros. The fund invests globally in early-stage start-ups developing B2B or B2C applications based on blockchain technology.
The portfolio includes the ClimateTech start-up "Senken," which makes Co2 certificates "on-chain" tradable. Another investment is FANtium, which allows fans to invest in athletes using of NFTs.
Also special is the use of Web3 technologies for the fund itself. People who make good proposals in terms of investments get tokens/shares if the deal is a success. "What is special about our fund is the ecosystem of community we are building around the investment vehicle", said co-founder Vicktoria Klich.
