News - Bitwise publishes commercial for Bitcoin ETF
Bitwise is certain of victory in the race for a Bitcoin Spot ETF. The asset manager has now even published a commercial.
"You know what's interesting these days? Bitcoin." So reads a commercial that asset manager Bitwise released Monday night. The clip shows actor Jonathan Goldsmith in his role as "The Most Interesting Man In The World." In doing so, the asset manager is indirectly playing into its Bitcoin Spot ETF. Bitwise is one of a number of applicants that have filed a corresponding application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The San Francisco-based company already has some experience with ETF-based crypto products. Bitwise currently offers two ETFs, the Bitcoin and Ether Equal Weight Strategy (BTOP) and the Bitcoin Strategy Optimum Roll (BITC) - albeit as futures-based products. A spot ETF is still missing from the range. This is also due to the fact that the SEC has been reluctant to approve such applications for years. In addition to Bitwise, other asset managers such as BlackRock are also working on approval.
Bitwise, however, is confident of a victory with its ad. In the end, the asset manager could be right. Market experts believe the first Bitcoin Spot ETFs could be licensed in the U.S. by January 2024.
