BlackRock owns more than 50 percent of Bitcoin in Spot ETFs

BlackRock now manages 50 percent of all Bitcoin currently traded in the form of spot ETFs. BlackRock's spot ETF, called IBIT, is worth $55 billion. That's nearly 3 percent of all Bitcoin out there. Fidelity is second in terms of asset management with nearly $20 billion.

Since the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs in January 2024, the volume has grown to $110 billion, representing nearly 6 percent of the total Bitcoin offering. IBIT is considered the most successful launch of a spot ETF ever. According to CEO Larry Fink said Bitcoin could even rise to $700,000.

BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager, with $11.5 trillion in assets under management. Because of its enormous size and influence on politics and economics, BlackRock is sometimes called "the silent shadow power."
