News - Cardano almost ready for Chang-Upgrade
The "most important milestone in Cardano history" is approaching. The Cardano development team has released a new Node version for validators. This is the final step before the Chang-Upgrade takes place.
Once 70 percent of Stake-Pool Operators (SPO) have installed the new software, the Hard Fork will be implemented, as Frederik Gregaard (CEO of the Cardano Foundation) explained. The Chang-Upgrade is expected by the end of July.
The Hard Fork is the missing puzzle piece in the crypto project's roadmap, launching the final development phase. It transfers the management of the network to the users. Specifically, it involves the implementation of "Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 1694." Among other things, this introduces voting rights for token holders.
Chang is proceeding in two steps. The second part of the upgrade should be completed by the end of this year.
