News - Cardano breaks records while ADA defies correction
Last weekend established Cardano a record for total value locked, while ADA defies cryptocurrency.
While the crypto market experienced a undergoes severe correction, Cardano (ADA) broke records last weekend.
According to DefiLlama the total locked-in value of the Cardano ecosystem broke through the $400 million mark for the first time, even briefly exceeding $420 million. Currently, the total capital managed in the Cardano ecosystem is $377 million.
Meanwhile, the most valuable protocols in the Cardano ecosystem are Indigo with $90 million, Minswap with $82.9 million and Liqwid with $43.5 million.
The ADA price is also performing significantly better than many other coins in a weekly comparison: ADA is down 5.68 percent in a 24-hour comparison. In a weekly comparison, however, this is still offset by good growth of 35 percent.
The TVL is an important figure in DeFi. It measures the value of all crypto assets secured via smart contracts in a protocol.
So TVL is not the same as market capitalization. For example, Cardano's market capitalization is $19.6 billion according to Coinmarketcap.
