Coca-Cola launches new NFT collection

Coca-Cola has launched a new NFT collection on Coinbase's Layer2 blockchain, Base. Here's what buyers can expect.

Beverage company Coca-Cola has announced its first NFT-series released on the Layer2 blockchain Base. Coinbase announced on Twitter the "Masterpiece" collection. The NFT collection is thus part of Coinbase's "Onchain Summer" campaign, designed to promote the new Layer2 blockchain.

The NFT collection combines classic masterpieces such as "The Scream" by Edvard Munch and "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" by Johannes Vermeer with contemporary works by artists such as Aket and Vikram Kushwah, intertwined with the famous Coca-Cola bottle to create an Onchain collectible.

Coca-Cola's first NFT experience was in July 2021, when it raised $575,000 for charity through an NFT sale. The beverage company also issued 136 NFTs in celebration of Pride Month last July. Coca-Cola is thus proving that NFTs are an integral part of its own marketing strategy.
