News - Crypto hackers steal $403,000
Drainers gonna drain: The crypto phishing group Angel Drainer is on the hunt for loot in the Ethereum landscape.
The hacker group "Angel Drainer" managed to drain 128 crypto wallets in a large-scale phishing campaign.
They have so far managed to steal more than 403,000 US dollars, as reported by blockchain security company Blockaid via the X platform.
Today our researchers discovered yet another emerging attack vector from the Angel Drainer group — this time phishing users and leading them to a single Safe Vault contract where 128 wallets have been drained of $403k+ so far. All Blockaid-protected users are safe. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/niffQDlciG

Angel Drainer directed users to a compromised smart contract that allowed them to empty their digital wallets.
The affected smart contracts are linked to secure wallets. These are automatically labeled as "verified" via Etherscan, giving users a false sense of security.
As Blockaid further reports, Safe is already aware of the incidents. They are working with the security company and customers to resolve the issues.
Safe users are now advised not to make any transactions until the problem is resolved.
