News - Developers are working on a glitch in Avalanche
By
Developers are currently investigating a glitch on the Avalanche network. According to the Blockexplorer there have been no blocks produced in the C-Chain.
"Developers throughout the community are currently investigating a delay in completing blocks that is causing blocks to not be accepted on the primary network," writes Avalanche in a status message.
According to Ava Labs co-founder Kevin Sekniq, the glitch was due to a "bug in mempool management." It was a "pure code bug" and there was "no performance issue."
Clarification on this: the issue seems to be a gossip-related mempool management bug, which is purely a code-related bug, and not an issue with performance handling. Inscriptions seem to have hit the edge case, but inscriptions did not affect performance. https://t.co/9cvQSAmTVu

Similar incidents occurred a year ago. Avalanche reported two block production outages in three days in March 2023.
