Is Donald Trump appointing a crypto advisor?

Donald Trump, the incoming US president, is seeking an official crypto advisor for the White House. This would be a first.

Will there be a special representative for crypto matters in the Trump administration? According to information from Bloomberg the Trump team is currently in talks with possible candidates for the role.

If created, this position would be a first. No previous U.S. administration has created a special position for a crypto expert. The person in this role would lead a small team and serve as a liaison between Congress and the White House, according to Bloomberg.

Donald Trump is known as an outspoken supporter of crypto. During his election campaign, he was supported by generous donations from the U.S. crypto sector. At the Bitcoin 2024 Conference, he addressed the Bitcoin community and proposed a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, Trump also met with Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase. According to insiders, the conversation was about replacing SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, who is likely to resign.

In addition, the Trump family has launched their own crypto project: Liberty Financial, which is based on Chainlink's technology.
