Two years ago in court, now a partner: ENS is teaming up with GoDaddy to bring Web3 to the mainstream Internet. The price of the ENS token continues to rise.
The Ethereum Name Service has partnered with GoDaddy, the world's largest domain provider. This means users can now transfer their created Ethereum domains (.eth) to classic website protocols (.com, xyz., etc.). And all at no cost.
ENS is a protocol that allows users to claim decentralized names for cryptowallets, Web sites and the like. In short: domain names for web3. For example, ENS can be used to create a domain linked to an ETH wallet, such as amazon.eth or volkswagen.eth. You then no longer need to search for the Ethereum address. These domains can also be linked to blockchain data.
GoDaddy is the largest domain registry in the world with a market share of about 31 percent worldwide and about 60 percent in the United States. It has more than 20 million customers.
Just two years ago, ENS dragged GoDaddy into court. The reason: the platform had released the domain eth.link for sale. The price of the ENS token rose 22 percent after the announcement. It now trades around 20 euros with a market capitalization of 640 million euros.
