Ethereum reserves on exchanges reach lowest level in 9 years

Is falling Ethereum stock going to cause volatile ETH prices? Looking at current stocks on crypto exchanges, the answer might be "yes." Indeed, data from CryptoQuant shows that exchange stocks have fallen to 18.95 million ETH. This value was last reached in July 2016. That situation could potentially lead to a supply shock for ETH. Such a shock occurs when strong demand combines with declining supply, which usually results in volatile prices.

So far, the current bull market for Ethereum has been relatively disappointing. Measured over the past year, ETH is down 4 percent and the currency is currently trading around $2,686. A possible catalyst for a price increase could be the approval of an Ethereum Staking ETF.
