Federal Reserve raises interest rate by another 25 basis points

The Fed will raise interest rates by another 0.25 percentage point to 4.75 per cent in its first interest rate decision in 2023, with the aim of curbing inflation.

Fed maintains its aggressive monetary policy: The US central bank is raising interest rates by another 25 basis points to 4.75 percentage points. The US authorities announced this in a press release. The world's leading central bank is continuing its policy in the new year.

Interest rate stands at highest since 2007

Interest rates are now at their highest level since 2007. Despite inflation falling to 6.5 percentage points in the month of December, the US central bank chief is sticking to his moto "Higher for Longer" for now. In an initial reaction, cryptocurrency Bitcoin moves +0.1 per cent towards US$23,125.
