Glenlivet launches whiskey NFT collection

The Glenlivet distillery is celebrating its 200th anniversary and is auctioning off a whiskey collection to mark the occasion. NFTs can be collected through this collective.

"One whiskey with NFT please" is a phrase you might soon hear at Scottish distillery Glenlivet. Indeed, to mark its 200th anniversary, the distillery is auctioning off a collection of 12 bottles all bottled in 1974.

The auction begins on Feb. 21. The starting bid for a bottle is 15,472 ETH (40,000 euros). Shipping is scheduled for the summer. The lucky winners will receive not only the whiskey, but also an NFT that registers uniqueness on the Ethereum blockchain and serves as proof of ownership.

In addition to blockchain technology, AI was also used during the production process to create a unique label.
