News - How much money crypto hackers stole in August
Hacker attacks or phishing attempts take place daily in the crypto sector. Apparently with success: hackers brought in a hefty haul in August.
In August hackers stolen more than $313 million in cryptocurrencies in ten attacks.
According to the blockchain analytics service PeckShield belong phishing attacks to the most effective method. Through these attacks, hackers made about $293 million.

In total, hackers captured $238 million in BTC and $55 million in DAI.
Casualties in August included the Ronin network and the decentralized financial protocol Nexera.
Ronin was the victim of a major hack at Axie Infinity back in 2022. Then hackers stole about $600 million. The attack is attributed to the North Korean hacker group Lazarus.
