News - Is BlackRock building its own blockchain?
By
According to the analysis of the on-chain data platform Token Terminal, BlackRock could further penetrate the crypto sector with its own blockchain-network. The asset manager could thus lay the groundwork to offer many more products from the crypto world in the future.
In recent weeks, BlackRock has already made significant investments. These primarily include the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), a stake in Circle, which issues USDC, and a position in Securitize, which manages the BUIDL On-Chain money market fund.
BlackRock recently paid particular attention to the tokenization of so-called Real World Assets, the capture of virtually all forms of investment on a decentralized network. More on this: BlackRock unleashes a Real World Asset boom.
With its own blockchain, BlackRock would no longer be dependent on services such as Ethereum.
