News - Kamala Harris likely wants to promote crypto industry
There is still speculation about her stance on crypto-regulation. According to an adviser, Kamala Harris is open to an approach that encourages innovation.
The American presidential candidate Kamala Harris could soon publicly state her position on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. According to her adviser, she wants a policy support that promotes the crypto sector.
In a Bloomberg report Harris' chief campaign adviser, Brian Nelson, spoke of the fact that former President Donald Trump's new challenger "will support policies that ensure that emerging technologies and this type of industry can continue to grow."
These remarks emerged during a roundtable discussion at the Democratic Party convention in Chicago. At the convention, Harris was officially elected and nominated as a presidential candidate.
Since Harris ran for the White House, she has yet to speak out publicly on the issue. This is in contrast to challenger Trump, who, among other things, has been on the Bitcoin conference in Nashville campaigned.
On Aug. 14, a virtual meeting of Democrats took place to discuss how Harris might support the crypto industry. Chuck Schumer, Senate majority leader, set a goal of formulating crypto-friendly legislation by 2025.
Kamala Harris has been under pressure since Trump's positive statements about cryptocurrencies. Especially in view of floating voters, this topic could still be decisive in the election campaign.
