News - Kamala Harris not speaking at Bitcoin conference
According to statements made by the organizer of Bitcoin 2024, Harris allegedly said privately that the cryptocurrency is "money for criminals."
The American Vice President Kamala Harris will not appear on the Bitcoin 2024 conference this year. This is according to a tweet from the Bitcoin Magazine organizer and CEO.
Kamala Harris will not be speaking @TheBitcoinConf. No surprise. What can she say to us when she’s actively imprisoning developers, forcing our industry overseas, attacking PoW… it would have been a disaster for her.

All eyes on Trump now.
The team of the expected presidential candidate is said to have been in talks with Bailey in recent days. However, the reason for the cancellation is not known. Nor is it clear which of the two sides ultimately opposed an appearance.
Bailey's statements in a subsequent tweet pointing however, on fundamental political differences between the two parties.
"Sorry, but you guys can't just pressure our industry for four years, pass Operation Chokepoint, make Gensler and Warren your champions and then pretend you don't have a problem with Bitcoin. A major Democratic donor told me that Kamala privately claims that Bitcoin is money for criminals," Bailey said.
Officially, little is known so far about Harris' stance on crypto. Meanwhile, crypto investor and billionaire Mark Cuban claims that Harris has informed her team about the industry with him and is making efforts to be candid with her.
