Over 100,000 BTC in possession. Who is behind the wallet that rose to the top three Bitcoin addresses in no time?

An unknown cryptowallet has collected more than $3 billion in bitcoin in the past three months. That makes it the address the third-largest BTC holdings ever.

According to data from cryptostatistics platform BitInfoCharts first received the wallet address Bitcoin on March 8, 2023. Meanwhile, the digital wallet holds 118,000 BTC. Equivalent value at the time of writing: US$3.04 billion.

Meanwhile, there is speculation in the cryptospace about the owner of the wallet. The world's largest asset manager, BlackRock, is also under suspicion. Indeed, the first major inflow into the wallet occurred in mid-May. Exactly one month later, BlackRock filed for a Bitcoin spot ETF.

So far, this theory has not been confirmed. BlackRock does not comment on the speculation.

According to BitInfoCharts, the largest Bitcoin wallets in the world currently belong to Binance and Bitfinex.

BlackRock and a number of other financial services firms, meanwhile, remain hopeful that their spot ETF applications will be approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Is a Bitcoin ETF good or bad for crypto? You can read about that here.
