An ancient Bitcoin whale suddenly moves large amounts of BTC to Kraken. The transaction is causing a stir in the crypto community.
A Bitcoin whale that had been sitting idle for more than 15 years is suddenly active again. Just five days after the Genesis block was created in January 2009, the whale mined its first BTC and hasn't touched it since.
Now, according to Arkham Intelligence, he has moved 10 BTC worth about $678,000 to the crypto exchange Kraken, after recently sending 50 BTC to Coinbase. Both transactions indicate that the old whale wants to realize his profits.

The ancient Bitcoin whale we’ve been tracking, who mined BTC 5 days after Bitcoin’s first block (13th January 2009), has just moved another $630K BTC to Kraken - totalling $5.47M in the past 2 months.

Moving BTC from very old wallets always piques the curiosity of the crypto community. There is speculation that some of these wallets may be connected to Satoshi himself.
Despite the two separate sales, which totaled about $5.5 million, the whale's Bitcoin wallet still holds 1,139 BTC worth $77.2 million. With this, he alone owns more Bitcoin than Metaplanet, the "Japanese MicroStrategy."
In recent years, several wallets from the Satoshi period have become active again. Mostly, they just moved their BTC to a new address. But some early investors have started paying out their profits anyway. Recently, another Bitcoin miner wallet also woke up, unexpectedly moving its then Block Subsidy of 50 BTC after a long pause.
