News - Peter Schiff: "Bitcoin threatens national security"
Gold enthusiast and ardent Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff is once again lashing out at the cryptocurrency. According to him, Bitcoin is "Enemy Number One" of the United States.
Peter Schiff, known for his harsh criticism of Bitcoin, has once again made himself heard. In a post on X, he declared, "Bitcoin threatens national security." He spoke out strongly against Donald Trump's plans to build a strategic Bitcoin reserve or buy Bitcoin for the US. Schiff even labeled the cryptocurrency as "public enemy number one."
Bitcoin has become a national security threat. It's one thing when private citizens voluntarily waste their own money buying #Bitcoin. But it crosses the line when they bribe government officials to squander the public's money buying it. Bitcoin is now public enemy number one.

Peter Schiff, an American economist and stockbroker, has long been known as an outspoken opponent of Bitcoin and a strong supporter of gold. He first criticized Bitcoin back in 2013, when the currency was around $100. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is worth $100,000, with a market capitalization of nearly $2 trillion.
With Trump's election, a new direction in U.S. cryptopolitics seems to be underway. Trump wants the U.S. to become the "crypto capital of the world." Policies include encouraging mining, building a strategic Bitcoin reserve and introducing positive regulation.
However, these plans are encountering increasing public opposition, fueled in part by voices like Peter Schiff's. Nevertheless, the ambitions of Trump and his administration for a prominent U.S. role in the crypto world remain unchanged.
