SEC is 'very interested' in Staking ETFs

There now seems to be real movement around the topic of Staking ETFs. After the first application for an Ethereum Staking ETF in the US was filed with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) last week, cautious, optimistic noises are already being heard from the regulator.

That reports Fox News journalist Eleanor Terrett, citing internal sources. The SEC is said to be "very interested" in staking and has asked the industry for a memo describing the different forms of staking and their benefits, Terrett said.

According to these sources, the SEC is considering issuing some sort of guidance on staking "in the near future."

These are initially positive signs, especially considering Ether's potential share price performance. A staking feature that could yield returns of up to four percent will be attractive to many investors, so demand is predicted to be high. Market experts are therefore counting on significant capital flows.

US exchange Cboe filed an application with the SEC last week for an Ethereum Staking ETF. The regulator has until the end of October to make a decision on the matter.
