The move-to-earn project STEPN wants to be reinstated. A partnership with sporting goods manufacturer Adidas is now going to make this possible.
The move-to-earm platform STEPN and sportswear manufacturer Adidas are putting "a step into the future". The two companies plan to launch a limited-edition NFT collection through a one-year collaboration. This is stated in a press release.
A total of 1,000 digital sneakers will be released as NFTs on the Solana blockchain. The first collection will be released on MOOAR, STEPN's NFT marketplace, on Wednesday, April 17.
The NFTs will also be integrated into both companies' apps. STEPN previously had a similar partnership with running shoe manufacturer Asics.
STEPN was launched almost exactly two years ago. At the time, there was incredible hype surrounding the move-to-earn project, which allowed users to earn GMT through movement. Meanwhile, the tokens were worth more than $3. Currently, at US$0.25, that's just a fraction. The catch: users had to buy an NFT in advance. This NFT cost between US$500 and US$1,000.
