The Telegram CEO, Pavel Durov, has been brought before the investigating judge, according to media reports. Meanwhile Toncoin on rumors of his release.

Over the weekend, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France was arrested. Now he would have been brought before the investigating judge. This appears from corresponding media reports.

The Russian billionaire, who also holds French citizenship, was reportedly released from police custody. He must now report to the competent court, which will decide on further proceedings.

Meanwhile, a false report is circulating on Crypto-Twitter claiming that Durov has been fully released. As a result, the price of the Telegram-related cryptocurrency Toncoin briefly rose 12%, but is now cooling again. At the time of writing, TON is trading at $5.56.

The reason for the Telegram CEO's arrest are alleged violations of the EU's Digital Service Act. Durov allegedly took too little action against the distribution of illegal content on his messaging service.
