Ethereum gets a documentary film.
Years in the making, available soon:"Vitalik: An Ethereum Story" tells the story of Ethereum, focusing on founder Vitalik Buterin.
One wants to show the culture of Ethereum, its people and emotions, through community members, crypto-enthusiasts and skeptics and, of course, especially the Ethereum developers.
"Vitalik" is the first documentary to be funded via crypto donations since its inception, mainly through NFTs. About 1,000 Ether was collected for this purpose in 2021, then about 2.1 million US dollars.
The premiere is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2024. The documentary will be released both via streaming and in selected cinemas. Three years in the making, more than 28 cities in 15 countries: that's how intense the shooting of the documentary was.
The trailer can be found here to be minted as NFT. A leaderboard will be established over the next few days. The highest positions will receive a private screening of the film. More and more cultural works are appearing on the story of Ethereum.
Two of the industry's leading journalists, Laura Shin with "Cryptopians" (Unchained) and Camilla Russo with "The Infinite Machine" (Bankless), have released their own books in recent years.
With "Proof of Stake," Vitalik Buterin also released an autobiography of sorts last year.
