News - Will there be an Ethereum futures ETF next week?
Ether futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) could begin trading in the U.S. as early as next week, according to Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart. Seyffart announced this today, Sept. 28, on X. It appears that "the SEC may approve some Ethereum futures ETFs next week."

The reason: If Congress cannot reach an agreement on the new fiscal year, there is a risk of a shutdown on Oct. 1. The US government then shuts down parts of its operations.
"They want it off the table before the shutdown," he wrote in response to a post by fellow analyst Eric Balchunas. The latter previously claimed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission "wanted to accelerate the introduction of Ether futures ETFs. Ether futures ETFs will most likely (90 percent probability) hit the market in early October," the experts estimated. However, they did not disclose their sources.
There are currently 15 Ether futures ETFs from nine companies awaiting SEC approval. In June, the authority first approved a futures ETF for Bitcoin.
