Will Platform X implement Bitcoin (BTC) or even Dogecoin (DOGE) in the coming year? That's what X boss Elon Musk insinuates in what he calls "Space," or a live podcast on his own platform. In an interview with ARK Invest CEO Cathie Woods, Musk said he expects X to introduce a payment feature "in the middle of next year."

Whether he was talking about cryptocurrencies at all or fiat payments remained unclear during the rest of the conversation. In any case, authorities would first have to grant the company a so-called Money Transmitter License. Musk is a fan of the memecoin DOGE. The entrepreneur was also a long-time supporter of Bitcoin and even sold Teslas for the cryptocurrency. For some time now, however, the world's richest man has been talking less and less about crypto.
